Beginning in August 2021 WE WIN Institute will begin a new initiative called SAFE SPACES, a series of self-care seminars that are designed to empower BIPOC voices through the exploration of healing and radical self-care. We want to create SAFE SPACES for community to share and learn skills to support resilience in the face of racial trauma.

We want to develop community connection through shared discussion, experience, and the exploration of personal and collective healing.  Each session will explore a new subject around RESILIENCE, giving participants an opportunity to share their stories and learn from BIPOC mentors in the areas of yoga (emphasis on breathing and meditation), nutrition, creative writing and art making (conceptual and performing/movement).

We want to advance the practice of cultural competence in supporting people of color, while increasing the number of SAFE SPACES in Minneapolis that allow people to heal, free from racial harm. Through Safe Spaces we want to:

  1. Support the sustainability of BIPOC voices through shared experiences.

  2. Empower those voices for personal growth.

  3. Explore the power of healing through self-care.

SAFE SPACES is a three-part series, we encourage folks to attend all three sessions, but it is not required! Safe Spaces is available in person and on Zoom!
